ITEM DESCRIPTION: This CCM Premier goalie blocker was utilized by Corey Crawford in NHL action with the Chicago Blackhawks in at least 10 games from October to December in the 2016-17 season. SHORT BIO: Born on December 31, 1984 in Montreal, Quebec, Corey Crawford was a solid goalie with Moncton in the QMJHL when he was drafted 52nd overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2003. The 2004 QMJHL Defensive Player of the Year turned pro in 2005-06, spending the majority of the year in Rockford in the AHL. On January 22, 2006, he made his NHL debut for the Chicago Blackhawks. Facing the Minnesota Wild for 21:27 in relief of Adam Munro, Crawford stopped all 7 shots that he faced in Chicago's 3-2 defeat. Despite sprinkles of NHL action on and off for several seasons, Crawford did not become a full-time NHL netminder until the 2010-11 season.
In 2010-11, his first season as Chicago's number one netminder, he appeared in 57 games, recording 33 wins, and 4 shutouts while being named to the NHL's All-Rookie Team. In 2012-13, he helped lead the Blackhawks to the Stanley Cup while earning the William M. Jennings Trophy. Two seasons later, he won another Stanley Cup with them while winning another William M. Jennings Trophy. On top of that, he was also an NHL All-Star that season. In 2015-16, he led the NHL in shutouts, and in 2016-17, he was once again an NHL All-Star. He also represented Team Canada at the World Cup of Hockey that season, winning the gold medal. At the end of the 2019-20 season, Crawford was signed as a free agent by the New Jersey Devils, however, he retired before ever playing a game for the Devils. In his NHL career, Corey Crawford appeared in 488 regular season games, going 260-162-53 with 26 shutouts, 9 assists, a 2.45GAA, and a 0.918% save average. He appeared in 96 NHL playoff games, going 52-42 with 5 shutouts, 2 assists, a 2.38GAA, and a 0.918% save average. He is the winningest playoff goalie of the entire 2010s among all goalies, and he is the 9th winningest regular season goalie of the entire 2010s.
