SHORT BIO: Born in Tustin, California on April 16, 2001, goaltender Dustin Wolf has enjoyed a distinguished rise to the NHL. His journey began in earnest in 2019, when the Calgary Flames drafted him 214th overall after he dominated the WHL by leading the league in GAA and save percentage. He remained in juniors for the 2019-20 season (also representing Team USA at the World Junior Championships), and he even swept most of the major junior goaltending awards by being named the WHL’s, CHL’s, and USA Hockey’s goalie of the year. He didn’t slow down the following season, as he captured a World Juniors gold medal and secured his second straight WHL Goalie of the Year title.
Though he had a handful of AHL games to his resume the prior season, Wolf officially turned into a full-time pro for the 2021-22 season with the AHL’s Calgary Wranglers. He immediately made an impact, as he led the league with 33 wins and earned the AHL’s Best Goaltender award. He also got his first NHL recall with Calgary, though he did not yet play in a game. The following year was one for the books; he led the AHL in wins, shutouts, GAA, and save percentage, and he captured both the Goalie of the Year award and league MVP award. His spectacular minor-league run also earned him his highly anticipated NHL debut on April 12, 2023, where he stopped 23 shots in a 3-1 win over San Jose. After splitting the 2023-24 season between the AHL and a 17-game stint with the Flames, Wolf officially took over as Calgary’s full-time number-one netminder for the 2024-25 season. He showed tons of promise and confidence in the starter's role, appearing in 53 games, recording 29 wins, and posting a stellar .910 save percentage, earning him a second-place finish in the NHL Rookie of the Year voting. He has since continued to anchor the crease as the Flames' undisputed number-one goalie, serving as a bright spot for the team even through challenging stretches both he and the team faced in 2025-26. He simply has a bright future and who knows where his career will lead him! Among his career accolades so far include being named the CHL Scholastic Player of the Year (2019), earning back-to-back WHL Top Goaltender awards (2020, 2021), being named the CHL Goaltender of the Year (2020), being named the USA Hockey Junior Goalie of the Year (2020), winning a U20 WJC Gold Medal (2021), winning back-to-back AHL Best Goaltender awards (2022, 2023), winning the AHL Most Valuable Player award (2023), and being named a finalist for the NHL Rookie of the Year (2025).
