this was to be our theme for the 2020 edition of the summit sports expo, however, due to covid-19 it was postponed to a date tba!
this theme will be carried forward to our next show whenever it may be.
All young goalies dream of playing in the NHL, pretending to be their favorite netminders as they play between the pipes in the streets, in their local rinks, and as they move up in junior hockey. They yearn to reach the heights of the greats that they grew up admiring, and perhaps even one day seek to overtake their heroes and make their own spots in history! Few are skilled or fortunate enough to make it to the pros, yet, when some of these goaltenders finally get their chance, fortune has other things in mind as they are beset by some ill-chance that derails or heavily sets back their otherwise promising futures in the NHL. These keepers of the crease are the "Victims of Circumstance".
Bruce C. Goaltending Museum is proud to announce that our theme for the 2020 Summit Show will be focused entirely on those NHL goalies who were at the top of the world and who were beset by some negative circumstance that either set their career back from reaching its true potential, dropped them from NHL depth, or at its worst, forced them to retire in the middle of their prime years. From recurring injuries, to poisoning, to dog attacks, to the insidious symptoms of multiple-sclerosis, these goalies had it all, but the fates had other opinions. The purpose of this exhibit is to remember those goalies through their memorabilia and not to focus entirely on the various circumstances that affected their careers. So join us on the April 4-5 weekend at Millennium Place in Sherwood Park, Alberta for the Summit Show XI and learn about those goalies who were the "VICTIMS OF CIRCUMSTANCE" for yourself!
But, of course, it's not all exciting NHL worn pieces and tales of these goalies for our museum set-up. We will also be selling a vast, quality array of sports cards of all teams in price ranges that fit any budget. Our affordable low end binders for the thrifty, bargain hunter in all of us are back and restocked several times over since the last show, hiding countless treasures within. Our showcases once again, will feature several mid to higher end pieces for the investor in all of us, with these cards being prices highly competitively as we are motivated to sell. For the local Edmonton crowd, we have four Edmonton Oilers binders this year, as well as a Connor McDavid and Wayne Gretzky binder sure to satisfy every Oilers fan's insatiable collecting needs! Let's not forget, "CARDS FOR THE KIDS". A giant box of countless hockey cards that kids can pick for free, what better way is there to introduce them to the best hobby on the planet?
But what's all that without the return of our Summit Show famous Mystery Draw Box? This year, we went all out. Fully restocked from last year, a total of 560 prizes await you at the incredibly low entry price of $5. Featuring stunning items such as autographed items of hockey legends like Tony Esposito, Bobby Hull, Rick Vaive, Jarome Iginla and budding young stars such as Evan Bouchard, to plush animals, to fan apparel and swag, to vintage collectibles, to complete hockey card sets, to truly countless other hockey treasures, the chance for every adult to feel like a kid again, and for a kid to truly be a kid is merely a blue $5 bill away. On top of the regular 290 prizes, don't forget about our "Mystery Envelopes" you might also draw in the box. 270 sealed envelopes await you and each holds a treasured card within. Five 1/1 cards can be found within the envelopes ranging in value from $10 to $100, as well as rookies and rookie-year cards of such stars as Marc Andre Fleury, Patrice Bergeron, Elias Pettersson, Nathan MacKinnon, Connor McDavid and many more! And don't even worry if you don't select one of the top prizes from our envelopes, each sealed envelope contains a card with a sale value of at least $5, ranging from top player rookies, to exciting multi-color patch cards, to scarce #d parallel cards, to autographs of legends of the game. These popular draws always go fast, so don't miss out on your chance to draw for victory! You work hard, so you owe it to yourself to play hard!
For our loyal customers, we will also have an amazing promotion taking place during the show itself. Spend $50 or more at our booth in a single visit and you will be entered into a draw to win a 2005 Quebec PeeWee Hockey Tournament hat autographed by Sidney Crosby, Al MacInnis, Derek Stepan and Bob Nystrom! Wow!
This set up is sure to be better than our best and we are excited to share our weekend with each and every one of you at the best show in Canada, the Summit Show!
Sincerely,
Bruce Csanyi
