SHORT BIO: Born on April 29, 1995 in Delta, British Columbia, Tristan Jarry was a standout star with the Edmonton Oil Kings of the WHL when he was drafted 44th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2013. The 2012, and 2014 WHL Champion and 2014 Memorial Cup Winner turned pro for the 2015-16 season, spending the year in the AHL and recording 5 shutouts. The following season, he earned an AHL All-Star selection, won the AHL’s Harry "Hap" Holmes Memorial Award for best goaltending duo, and made his NHL debut on April 9, 2017, stopping 22 shots in a 3–2 loss to the New York Rangers. Though he served as a backup at numerous points throughout Pittsburgh's 2017 Stanley Cup run, he did not meet the criteria to have his name engraved on the Stanley Cup. In 2017-18, Jarry spent a large portion of the season in the NHL, seeing action in 26 games with the Pens and winning 14 of them. Minus two NHL games, he spent the majority of 2018-19 in the AHL, even scoring a goalie-goal with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He soon established himself as a full-time NHLer. Over the next seven seasons with the Penguins, he appeared in a further 278 games with them (307 total), earned two NHL All-Star appearances, and even scored a goalie goal for them on November 30, 2023 and ultimately departed the team as the as the third-winningest goalie in franchise history. On December 12, 2025, Jarry was traded to the Edmonton Oilers in the deal that saw Stuart Skinner go to Pittsburgh. He played 19 regular season and 1 playoff game with Edmonton that season and is projected to enter the 2026-27 season as a member of the Edmonton Oilers.
Among his career accolades so far include being a WHL Champion (2012, 2014), a Memorial Cup Champion (2014), an AHL All-Star (2017), an AHL Best Goaltending Duo Award Winner (2017), scoring an AHL goalie goal (2018), playing in the NHL All-Star Game (2020, 2022), and scoring an NHL goalie goal (2023).
