Connor Hellebuyck
2023-24 Winnipeg Jets Game Worn True Goalie Blocker
What you are looking at right now is a game worn True blocker used by Connor Hellebuyck with the Winnipeg Jets in 2023-24. It exhibits excellent wear and is definitively photomatched to six games of action in November of 2023.
Born on May 19, 1993, in Commerce, Michigan, Connor Hellebuyck was drafted 130th overall by the Winnipeg Jets in 2012. The second ever goalie drafted by the Jets after Jason Kasdorf, Hellebuyck turned pro in 2014-15. That was after two years with the University of Massachusetts-Lowell that saw him named the NCAA Hockey East Tournament MVP in both seasons. In his first pro season, he spent the year with the St. John's IceCaps. A preview of his excellence to come, he appeared in the AHL All-Star Game. He also represented the United States in the IIHF Worlds that season. Hellebuyck led the USA to a bronze medal while leading the tournament with the best GAA and save percentage.
In 2015-16, the moment happened. On November 27, 2015, Hellebuyck made his NHL debut for the Jets vs the Minnesota Wild. He stopped 14 of 15 shots that he faced in a 3-1 win. He split the season between the AHL and the NHL, again appearing in the AHL All-Star Game. By 2016-17, Hellebuyck had taken over the number one role in Winnipeg as he appeared in 56 games. In 2017-18, he had his breakout season as he recorded a league-best 44 wins in 67 games, was the runner-up for the Vezina Trophy, and he also appeared in his first NHL All-Star Game. On top of that, he led the Jets into the Conference Finals of the playoffs. The 2019-20 season saw Hellebuyck, once again, appear in the NHL All-Star Game, in addition to leading the NHL in shutouts, and also being named the Vezina Trophy Winner. 2023 and 2024 again saw Hellebuyck repeat as an NHL All-Star, again while posting superstar numbers as the definitive franchise netminder for the Jets.
As his NHL career is still very much ongoing, his career numbers will not be posted at this time.
