1997-98 Game Worn calgary flames Set 1 Road Jersey
Dwayne Roloson, born October 12, 1969 in Simcoe, Ontario was a standout goaltender with the University of Massachusetts, but never got drafted into the NHL. The Calgary Flames, noticing some potential, signed Roloson as a free agent in 1994. He remained with the Saint John Flames of the AHL for two seasons before he got his big break in 1996-97. Calgary called him up and in his first game on November 13, 1996, Roloson stopped 35 of 38 shots in a 3-3 tie against Dallas. Roli remained with the Flames for the grand majority of the season, appearing in 31 games and getting 9 wins for the team. He played one additional season with Calgary before being signed as a free agent by the Sabres. There, Roloson was the backup to Dominik Hasek and had his first experience of the Stanley Cup Final while sitting on the bench. After two seasons in Buffalo, Roloson was signed by the St. Louis Blues, but never saw game action with them. In 2001-02, the Minnesota Wild signed him to backup Manny Fernandez, and instead, Roloson overtook the starting role on the team. In 2002-03, he was instrumental in getting the Wild to the Western Conference Final. He remained with them until 2005-06, when he was traded to the Edmonton Oilers. In Edmonton, he led the team to their first Stanley Cup Final appearance since 1990, but he was injured in game one and without him, the team fell in seven games. He remained with the Oilers until the end of the 2008-09 season before the Islanders signed him. There, he played until 2010-11 when he was acquired by the Tampa Bay Lightning. Once again, in the playoffs, he led his team to the Conference Final, only to fall. He played one additional year in 2011-12 before retiring from play. Shortly thereafter, he became the goalie coach for the Anaheim Ducks and in 2014-15, he was even dressed as the emergency back up goalie for a game.
In his career, Roloson appeared in 606 games, recording a 227-257-42 record with 29 shutouts, a 2.72GAA, 14 assists, and a 0.908% save average. Additionally, he appeared in 50 playoff games, recording a 28-18 record with a 2.54GAA, two assists, and a 0.918% save average.
