Born on February 11, 1992 in St. Albert, Alberta, this goaltender was a solid talent for the WHL's Medicine Hat Tiger. His name...Tyler Bunz. Drafted 121st overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2010 NHL Draft, Bunz transitioned to the pros in 2012-13, when he appeared in 37 games for the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL and also in one game with Oklahoma in the AHL. The following season, he appeared in a combined 18 games, sharing time with Bakersfield in the ECHL and with Oklahoma in the AHL, posting a slightly higher than 0.900 save average in each. In 2014-15, he once again shared time in the ECHL and AHL, posting a slightly lower sub-0.900 save average. But, like all the goalies in this collection, "it" happened. Recalled by the Edmonton Oilers on April 2, 2015, Bunz began the game sitting on the bench as back-up to starter, Ben Scrivens. After Scrivens surrendered five goals to the Kings, Bunz was given the third period to himself. After starting shakily (two goals on four shots against), he improved for the remainder of the game, stopping 9 of the 12 shots that he faced in the team's 8-2 defeat. After that season, he retired from professional play and he is currently a respected car salesman in Spruce Grove, Alberta. On top of that, as of 2017-18, he still occasionally plays with the Stony Plain Eagles of the Allan Cup Hockey West, a senior league which features several former pro hockey players.
In his NHL career, Tyler Bunz appeared in one game and recorded an 0-0-0 record with a 0.750% save average, and a 9.00GAA,
