JOHN TANNER

Born on March 17, 1971 in Cambridge, Ontario, John Tanner was drafted 54th overall by the Quebec Nordiques in 1989. Enjoying a strong junior career, he was recalled from the OHL and played one NHL game during the 1989-90 season. He split the 1990-91 season with the OHL's London Knights and Sudbury Wolves, but he also got to play in an additional 6 NHL games with the Nordiques that year. He finally made the full transition to pro hockey in the 1991-92 season, splitting the year with Halifax and New Haven in the AHL and with the Quebec Nordiques in the NHL. He appeared in 14 games with them that year, which were to become the final NHL games of his career. He continued to play in the minor-pros before officially calling it quits after the 1996-97 season.
 
In his short 21 game NHL career, Tanner recorded a 2-11-5 record with one shutout, a 3.60GAA, and a 0.883% save average.
