2011-12 Game Worn Des Moines Buccaneers (USHL) Vaughn Goalie Pads
What you are looking at right now is a set of Vaughn goalie pads used by Jason Kasdorf while with the Des Moines Buccaneers in the USHL in 2011-12. They exhibit excellent wear.
Born on March 18, 1992, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Jason Kasdorf was drafted 157th overall by the Winnipeg Jets in 2011. Before turning pro, however, he played a season with the Des Moines Buccaneers in the USHL immediately after his draft year and then played four seasons in the NCAA with the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. In 2015, his rights were traded to the Buffalo Sabres in the deal that saw Evander Kane and Zach Bogosian also go to Buffalo.
The year his college career ended also saw Kasdorf earn the moment that every goalie dreams of. He was signed to an entry level contract by the Sabres on March 14, 2016 and then on April 8, 2016, he made his NHL debut. He got the start in goal vs the Columbus Blue Jackets and stopped 26 shots in a 4-1 defeat. He backed up in one additional game that season. He spent 2016-17 in the Sabres' system, seeing him spend time with Rochester in the AHL, and Elmira in the ECHL. The following season, he again spent time in both the AHL and ECHL. After being unable to secure a spot in North America, Kasdorf played two games in Germany in 2018-19 before retiring from play. Though, he had an incredibly short pro career that only saw him appear in 66 games across 4 seasons it was nevertheless highlighted by his chance in the NHL. It is worth noting, though, that he has been signed as an EBUG by the Manitoba Moose multiple times and has also been the designated EBUG for the Jets on several occasions as well, so while not formally playing in any pro league any longer, he is still involved in hockey.
In his NHL career, Jason Kasdorf appeared in 1 regular season game, going 0-1-0, with a 4.00GAA and a 0.867% save average. He appeared in no NHL playoff games.
