Early to Mid 1990s Game Used Stick
In the early to mid 1990s, Scott Langkow used this VIC goalie stick in game action, likely with the Portland Winterhawks in the WHL or possibly early on with the Springfield Falcons. It is autographed and exhibits excellent wear.
Born on April 21, 1975 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Scott Langkow was drafted 31st overall by the Winnipeg Jets in 1993. The older brother of long-time NHLer Daymond Langkow, Scott turned pro in 1995-96 and his professional playing career continued until 2012-13, seeing him play in Europe, the UHL, ECHL, IHL, AHL, and the NHL. He made his NHL debut for the Winnipeg Jets on December 7, 1995 vs the San Jose Sharks. Briefly replacing Tim Cheveldae in goal for 6:10, Langkow stopped both shots that he faced before Cheveldae returned. His NHL career began in 1995-96, then continued from 1997-98 to 1999-00, seeing him play with the Winnipeg Jets, Phoenix Coyotes, and Atlanta Thrashers.
In his NHL career, Scott Langkow appeared in 20 regular season games, going 3-12-1 with a 4.33AA, and a 0.857% save average. He appeared in no NHL playoff games.
Among his career accolades include earning the AHL's Best Goaltending Duo Award (1996), appearing in the AHL All-Star Game (1997, 1998), being named the AHL's Best Goaltender (1998), leading the German DEL with shutouts (2011), and leading the German DEL in wins (2013).
