2007-08 Game worn edmonton oilers Set 1 Home Jersey
Mathieu Garon, from Chandler, Quebec and born in 1978, was originally a second round draft pick of the Montreal Canadiens back in 1996. He closed out his junior career in the QMJHL and played in two AHL seasons before making his NHL debut in the 2000-01 season. With the Habs, Garon was their off-and-on backup goaltender up until the end of the 2003-04 season when he was traded to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for Cristobal Huet. There he remained until the end of the 2006-07 season before ending up in Edmonton. He stayed with the Oilers for a year and a bit before moving to Pittsburgh in the 2008-09 season and getting his name etched on the Stanley Cup as their backup. He then played two more years for the Blue Jackets and then two more with the Lightning before heading to the KHL in 2013-14 and retiring from hockey thereafter.
