In 2009-10, Yann Danis used this Reebok goalie stick in game action while he was with the New Jersey Devils. It features excellent wear and the letters "Y" and "G" that he wrote on the stick represent his parents "Yves" and "Ginette", his father and mother.
Born on June 21, 1981 in Lafontaine, Quebec, Yann Danis was undrafted though signed by the Montreal Canadiens in 2004 after he completed his collegiate career at Brown University. His pro career began at the end of the 2003-04 season with the Hamilton Bulldogs and then continued until 2016-17, seeing him play in the KHL, AHL, and the NHL. Danis' NHL debut came on October 12, 2005. Starting in goal for the Canadiens vs the Atlanta Thrashers, Danis was perfect as he stopped all 32 shots he faced in a 2-0 win. His NHL career began in 2005-06, continued from 2008-09 to 2010-11, resumed in 2012-13, and then ended in 2015-16 and saw him play with the Montreal Canadiens, New York Islanders, New Jersey Devils, and Edmonton Oilers.
Among his career accolades include being named the NCAA Ivy-League Player of the Year (2004), recording a shutout in his NHL debut (2005), playing in the AHL All-Star Game (2006, 2012, 2016), winning an AHL Calder Cup (2007), and winning the AHL's Best Goaltender Award (2012).
