Born on August 14, 1992 in Brampton, Ontario, Scott Wedgewood was a third round draft pick of the New Jersey Devils in 2010. A stellar talent out of the OHL's Plymouth Whalers, Wedgewood played for Team Canada in the 2011-12 IIHF Junior Championships and won a bronze medal. He transitioned to the pro ranks in 2012-13, splitting time between Trenton and Albany in the ECHL/AHL respectively. For the next three seasons, he remained in the AHL, fighting hard to try and get his chance at "the show". Then it happened, on March 20, 2016, Scott Wedgewood was given the call and stopped 27 of 28 shots in a 2-1 victory over Columbus. Then he followed that up with his first shutout of his career on March 24. He appeared in four games that season. Back in the AHL the next season, a shoulder injury in 2016-17 limited his season to 10 games. In 2017-18, Wedgewood was acquired by the Arizona Coyotes and he appeared in 20 games before being traded on to the Los Angeles Kings in February 2018. At the conclusion of the season, he was signed to a one year contract by the Buffalo Sabres where he played the entire season with their AHL affiliate in Rochester. In 2019-20, he was acquired by the Tampa Bay Lightning, however, once again, remained with their AHL affiliate in Syracuse. In 2020-21 he rejoined the Devils' system before being re-acquired by Arizona in 2021-22 and then being moved to Dallas!
