SHORT BIO: Born on June 29, 1975 in Ottawa, Ontario, Tyler Moss was drafted 29th overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 1993. After being named the OHL Goalie of the Year in 1995, Moss turned pro for the 1995-96 season. His pro career went from 1995-96 to 2011-12 and spanned Europe, the CoHL, IHL, AHL, and NHL. He played in the NHL in 1997-98, 1998-99, 2000-01, and 2002-03 with the Calgary Flames, Carolina Hurricanes, and Vancouver Canucks respectively.
Tyler Moss' NHL debut came on October 28, 1997 vs the Pittsburgh Penguins. Starting in goal for Calgary, he stopped 26 shots in a 6-3 win. Moss also had recalls with Tampa Bay and with Edmonton in his career, though did not get into game action with either squad. In his NHL career, Tyler Moss appeared in 30 games, going 6-16-1 with 1 assist, a 3.25GAA, and a 0.891% save average. He appeared in no NHL playoff games. He was also the winner of the AHL's Best Goaltending Duo award in 1998, an award which he shared with Jean-Sebastien Giguere. It is to be noted that Moss was Saint John's number one goalie that season. |
