2006-07 boston bruins/providence bruins/san antonio rampage game worn Sher-Wood glove and blocker set
What you are looking at right now is a Sher-Wood glove and blocker set worn in NHL and AHL game action by Philippe Sauve in 2006-07 while with the Boston Bruins, Providence Bruins, and San Antonio Rampage. They exhibit tons of wear comprised of black marks, abrasions, repairs, etc, indicative of many months of use.
Born on February 27, 1980 in Buffalo, New York, Philippe Sauve is the son of former NHL netminder, Bob Sauve. Sauve was drafted 38th overall by the Colorado Avalanche in 1998, then was named both the QMJHL's and CHL's Humanitarian of the Year in 1999 before representing Team USA at the 2000 IIHF World Juniors. He turned pro in 2000-01 and became the number one goalie of the Hershey Bears. Each subsequent season saw him gain further responsibility in the AHL and his numbers remained strong throughout it all. He was even an AHL All-Star in 2003.
In 2003-04, he made the Avalanche's roster and on October 18, 2003, he made his NHL debut vs the Edmonton Oilers. He stopped 19 of 24 shots that he faced in a 6-3 loss. Sauve spent most of the season up in the pros serving as the backup to David Aebischer and he played in 17 games of action. In 2005-06, Sauve joined the Calgary Flames and appeared in 8 more games of NHL action, even getting into a goalie fight with his ex-Avs teammate, David Aebischer. He was then traded to Phoenix that season in the deal that saw Brian Boucher join the Flames. In 2006-07, after starting the season in San Antonio, Sauve was traded to the Boston Bruins and he saw his final two games of NHL action there. After one more season split in the AHL and German DEL, Sauve retired from play. He is currently the General Manager for Sherbrooke in the QMJHL.
In his NHL career, Philippe Sauve appeared in 32 games, going 10-14-3 with a 3.45GAA, and a 0.888% save average. He appeared in no NHL playoff games.
