*FINAL NHL WIN worn
Born February 12, 1983 in Felben Wellhausen, Switzerland, Jonas Hiller was an undrafted goaltender who transitioned from Europe to North America in 2007-08 after some fine performances with Switzerland. He joined the Ducks and immediately assumed the back-up role on the team, recording a 10-7-1 record in 23 games. From 2008-09 to 2011-12, Hiller was the undisputed starter of the team, recording impressive numbers each year. In 2012-13, he split time with Viktor Fasth before re-assuming the starting role in 2013-14 with 50 appearances. However, by the time of the playoffs, he was eventually displaced by John Gibson and Fredrik Andersen. As a result, the Calgary Flames signed him to a two year contract beginning in 2014-15. That season, he continued his consistent play, appearing in 52 games and recording a fine 26-19-4 record to help them into the playoffs for the first time since 2008-09 and helping them past the first round for the first time since 2003-04 (in tandem with Ramo of course). In 2015-16, much was expected of the goaltending tandem, and though Ramo rebounded after a weak start, Hiller never really improved as the season went on. In 26 games, he recorded a 9-11-1 record with a 3.51GAA, and a 0.879% save average, a whole 3.1% worse than his previous weakest year. At the conclusion of the season, Hiller signed a three year contract with a team in Switzerland, effectively ending his NHL career. As of 2019-20, Hiller remains with the Biel HC in Switzerland.
In 404 games, Hiller recorded a 197-140-37 record with 23 shutouts, eight assists, a 2.55GAA, and a 0.914% save average. In 33 playoff games, he recorded a 15-15 record with three shutouts, a 2.35GAA, and a 0.930% save average.
